After you buy
What you get
A private GitHub repository containing the template source, the same files the live demo is built from, not an export of them. Everything is in it: the pages, the content collections, the design tokens, the documentation, and the demo photography, licensed for use in the template.
The steps
1. Pay
Checkout runs through a merchant of record. That means VAT and sales tax are calculated and remitted for you and the invoice comes from them, not from us. You do not need a company to buy, and you do not need to work out your own tax position on a $59 purchase.
2. Accept the invitation
Within a few minutes you receive an invitation to a private GitHub repository. It goes to the email address you paid with, so if it has not arrived, check that address first, including the folder your mail client keeps invitations in.
If you do not have a GitHub account, create a free one and reply to the receipt with the username; the invitation is sent to whichever account you name.
3. Clone and run
git clone https://github.com/alderthemes/<template>.git
cd <template>
npm install
npm run dev
The site opens on localhost:4321 with the demo content in place. From there,
docs/README.md inside the repository is the setup guide: one configuration
file for the business details, one block of design tokens for the look, and
markdown files for everything else.
4. Keep the updates
Fixes and improvements are pushed to the same repository. Pull them when you want them. Nothing is forced onto a site you have already shipped, and access does not expire. Every change is listed in the changelog, per template, with a date.
If something goes wrong
Write to the support address on the support page. A reply comes from the person who wrote the template.
Within 14 days of buying, if the template turns out to be wrong for the job, say so and the payment is refunded. There is no form.
